- Description: An oral fixed-dose Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy (ACT) utilized as a gold-standard antimalarial regimen.
- Composition: Available in standard strengths: 40 mg/240 mg or double-strength 80 mg/480 mg Artemether and Lumefantrine.
- Indication: Treatment of acute, uncomplicated malaria infections caused by Plasmodium falciparum.
Dosage: Prescribed as a standard 6-dose course spread over 3 days. Adults and children \(\ge \) 35 kg take 1 double-strength tablet (80/480mg) or 2 standard tablets (40/240mg) twice daily for 3 consecutive days, taken with fatty meals or milk to guarantee proper absorption.
